Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse in search of a ring

January 23, 2019 | Morgen S. Cvetko The beginning of spring semester also means the beginning of spring sports for Coastal Carolina University. The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team is one of the many teams excitingly waiting for the season to start.  Head coach Kristen Selvage is also excited for the season and is hoping to win the conference championship this year.   “I am beyond excited – I live for it,” Selvage said.  Madeline Bromley, senior attacker and team captain, is also excited.  “We have back our entire line up minus on, so we are picking up right where we left off, I am very excited,” Bromley said.  The women lacrosse team will take on Old Dominion University on Feb. 9th, at Brooks Stadium. The ladies last saw Old Dominion in 2017, where they were defeated by one. The CCU ladies are hoping for a different outcome this season.  There was a lot of talk of rings ...

Coastal Carolina releases annual Clery Report

October 27, 2018 | Morgen Cvetko Coastal Carolina University released their yearly Clery Report on Monday, Oct. 1st, 2018   The Clery Report is a mandatory report, established in 1990, that all universities and colleges report to on some level and the report is mandated by the federal government through the Department of Education. The report consists of crimes and fires that were reported on campus, on campus residential areas, non-campus property, and public property usually up to the sidewalk adjacent to the university.  Thomas Mezzapelle, Captain of Public Safety, said, “[The Clery Act is] a guarantee that there is at least once a year, where people can look at something and say okay, these are the crimes that happened on our campus that are being tracked.”   The annual Clery report posted by Coastal allows students and the community to see ...
